Who is the Alaska Occupational Safety Summit (AOSS)?
The AK ASSP wanted to provide a high level of professional development opportunities for its members in Alaska. The Midnight Sun Chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association in the same effort – teamed with the AK ASSP and in 2005, jointly hosted the first annual, “Alaska Occupational Safety Summit” (AOSS).
The AOSS draws heavy support from the Oil and Gas industries of Alaska as well as Construction and Mining. Alaska offers a diverse work force blend of HSE Professionals from around the world. The AOSS has become known as a highly professional conference with speakers vying for an opportunity to come to this majestic state and speak at such a quality conference. Many speakers from the AOSS have gone on to provide consulting services for those same Alaskan industries. Local vendors heavily support the AK ASSP and have become members of the local Chapter. They sponsor luncheons, provide door prizes, and the AOSS has developed a loyal list of exhibitors through engaging attendees in activities with the Exhibitors… Last year the AOSS sold out Exhibitor space in 1 day! The AOSS highly values the Exhibitors, Speakers and Sponsors it has established and maintains… utilizing their feedback year to year to continually add that “something new”!
