Alaska Chapter funds a Visionary Scholarship for Students!

In June of 2013, The Alaska Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers fully funded a Visionary Scholarship ($1,000 to be awarded annually.) Preference will be given to Alaska Chapter Student Section members enrolled in the Occupational Safety and Health Program at UAA's KPC extension. Follow this link to all ASSE Scholarships available: https://assescholars.communityforce.com/Student/FundsCriteria.aspx (Submitting one application, enters the candidate for consideration in all awards.) Deadline for applicants is December 1st, 2013 with Award Recipients announced around April 1, 2014.

 

8th Annual Summit 2013

On October 16th and 17th, 2013 we hosted our 8th annual Summit - Those who were in attendance would agree, it was the best Summit yet! Over 220 were in attendance, with awesome computer roller bags for each attendee filled with items from our sponsors. The Exhibitor door prizes were amazing, such as: gas detectors; open catalogs for anything you want from a few; innovative safety boots in your size; reflective, insulated jackets; nomex insulated coats; just to name a few! Truly an exciting event for all of us. - At the close of this event we want to extend our deepest appreciation to the Exhibitors for sharing innovations, and the Sponsors, without whose support, this event wouldn't be possible - Thank each of you for your part in making this a huge success!

The Alaska Chapter continually seeks to increase the benefits of membership. Recently, U of W, Pacific NorthWest OSHA Education Center which offers OSHA Courses, has agreed to offer the AK ASSE members - $100.00 discount per course they take in Alaska. AK ASSE Crane Symposium

The Alaska ASSE presented a Technical Symposium on Cranes on November 6th of 2012. It was a highly successful event that brought the experts who wrote the standards to Anchorage to discuss the changes and what is yet to come.
