Tuesday, Oct 18 – ASSE luncheon meeting

Please join us on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, for our monthly .  Remember, we are now meeting at the Petroleum Club of Anchorage, which is located at 3301 C Street, Suite 120, Anchorage, AK  99503.

After networking with your peers and eating a great lunch, we will have an opportunity to learn from Rusty Allen and Ryan Pearce, from ENSTAR.  Rusty and Ryan will be speaking on the topic of safe excavation practices around gas lines, as well as the latest Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) rulings.

RSVP via email to me at jjohanson@gci.com by the close of business on Friday, October 14th.  Please include your menu choice.

In addition to the Petroleum Club’s Caesar Salad, you have two choices for an entrée.  Both entrées will be served with two chef selected sides.

  • Option 1:  Chicken Cordon Bleu – Chicken breast, imported ham, and Swiss cheese with asiago.
  • Option 2: Grilled NY Strip, green peppercorn cognac sauce, crispy potato garnish.

Allergies:  If you have an allergy to an item in the above listed menu, please let me know.  The PCA will strive to meet your dietary requirements.

  • When:  11:30am to 1:00pm
  • Cost (with meal): $20.00 if you RSVP, $25.00 without an RSVP, $10.00 for ASSE Student Members, Coffee only: $3.00

Alaska Spine Institute Adjuster Luncheon: September 22, 2016

Attached is an invitation for members of the Alaska Chapter of ASSE to attend an educational session hosted by the Alaska Spine Institute. In addition to a complimentary lunch, it is an opportunity to learn something new and meet some of the people that specialize in the workers’ compensation world, including adjusters, nurse case managers and Alaska Spine Institute providers.

Alaska Chapter funds a Visionary Scholarship for Students!

The second Alaska Chapter Student Scholarship was awarded in April 2015! Joseph Meloche, is an undergraduate at Kenai Peninsula College, in the Occupational Safety and Health Program. Congratulations Joseph!

In June of 2013, The Alaska Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers fully funded a Visionary Scholarship ($1,000 to be awarded annually.) Preference will be given to Alaska Chapter Student Section members enrolled in the Occupational Safety and Health Program at UAA’s KPC extension.
