Fifth Annual Safety Summit to be Held September 14 - 15, 2010
The Alaska Occupational Safety Summit is now in its fifth year! This year’s Summit will be held at the Captain Cook in Anchorage. Whether you are a new sponsor or continuing your sponsorship, your support makes the Safety Summit happen.

“Envision the Future of Safety” is the theme for this year’s Summit. The Summit offers Safety, Health and Risk Managers professional development sessions on topics such as Heath and Safety Management, OSHA compliance, risk reduction, and other compelling topics.

Your Sponsorship Enhances Workplace Safety
The Safety Summit brings in the best speakers from across the country to present fresh ideas on occupational safety and health. Financial support from companies like yours allows our non-profit organization to present the Summit, and keeps registration fees low. The Summit continues to be an excellent value for the money, offering continuing education credits without out-of-state travel expenses.

Our Attendees Say It Best
Attendance at the Safety Summit continues to be strong, with more than 100 Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental professionals present. These are some of their comments:

  • The Safety Summit was “very well done,” “professionally presented,” and “very well organized.”
  • The Alaska Safety Summit is “better than out-of-state safety conferences,” and had “lots of info I will use in the workplace.”
  • Safety Summit speakers were “outstanding,” “top notch,” and “great!”

For five years, the Safety Summit has presented successful, well-attended conferences. Previous sponsors have included BP Exploration Alaska, ConocoPhillips Alaska, Samson Electric, Chevron, ASRC, Slaydon Plumbing, CH2M Hill, NMS Management Services, and others. Wouldn’t your company like to be associated with the upcoming Safety Summit by providing financial support?

Please take a moment to review the enclosed fact sheet and use the sponsor response form to make your contribution. Your donation is vital for the continued success of the Summit.

Thank you for your consideration. Please feel free to contact me at Jeffrey.Carpenter@bp.com if you have any questions or need more information.

Who are we?

  • We are not-for-profit health and safety professional organizations in Alaska; the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
  • We are occupational safety and health professionals and managers working to keep Alaska’s workers injury-free
  • The Summit Planning Committee members are all volunteers, ALL who work on this committee donate their personal time to this worthy cause
  • We’re efficient, we’re effective, we’re experts with the know-how to improve the quality of life through a successful professional development summit
  • We have a proven track record of organizing and executing high-quality, low cost Safety Summits

Alaska safety and health professional development benefits our sponsors in many ways

  • Lower cost as a result of in-State training; world-class speakers and ideas without expensive travel
  • Local community economic benefits
  • Lower corporate cost through improved safety and health performance in our workplaces
  • Recognition of your support in conference materials and Summit venues

The Summit presents topics safety and health professionals need

  • The Summit presents sessions on topics that are timely, relevant, and designed to help Safety and Health Practitioners be more effective
  • We bring world-class speakers who present the latest knowledge in safety and health to Alaska
  • Previous Summit topics included: Hexavalent Chromium, Electrical Safety under NFPA 70E, Six Sigma for Continuous Improvement of Safety, Emergency Response, Welding Safety, and Air Sampling Methods. There will also be Exhibitor Product Demonstrations with state of the art technology

Corporate Sponsorship is key to our success

  • All contributions will go directly to defray Summit expenses
  • We’re a volunteer board so contributions only go to fund this or future Summits
  • The Summit fills a gap in in-State, high quality continuing education for occupational safety managers and professionals
  • The Summit would not be possible without the generosity of our Sponsors

The Alaska Occupational Safety Summit needs corporate sponsorship to achieve our goals for presenting a first-class Safety Summit. Your sponsorship dollars will help us underwrite speaker fees and speaker hotel expenses so that we may bring nationally renowned speakers to Alaska and help reduce registration fees for attendees. All funds will be expended for conference expenses.

Based on the level of your donation, you will receive a proportionate level of recognition. This includes projected company logo display, placement of promotional materials (flyers, pens, etc.) in the registration portfolios (sponsor provided). If we receive your sponsorship and an electronic format logo (jpg, bmp, or gif) prior to August 25, 2010, we will list your company name in the conference program and on a Sponsor banner displayed at the conference hotel throughout the conference (size according to contribution amount).
