Alaska ASSE February 2018 Luncheon: Alaska Occupational Safety and Health (AKOSH)

Posted: Jan 24, 2018

Please join us on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, from 11:30am – 1pm, for our monthly ASSE luncheon meeting.  Remember, we are now meeting at the Petroleum Club of Anchorage, which is located at 3301 C Street, Suite 120, Anchorage, AK  99503.

In August 2017, the House of Delegates voted to amend Society bylaws to reflect the new name of American Society of Safety Professionals.  As a separately incorporated entity, our chapter needs to hold a separate chapter member vote to change the name in our bylaws, as well.  We will hold a member vote on these proposed changes during this luncheon.

After networking with your peers and voting on our Chapter bylaws, we will have an opportunity to learn from Krystyna Markiewicz, Chief, Alaska Occupational Safety & Health (AKOSH), LS&S, DOL&WD, as well as Greg Matthieu, Assistant Chief of Enforcement.

Krystyna will be leading a presentation on Alaska Occupational Safety & Health Division; what’s new in Alaska’s world of occupational safety; and goals for 2018.  Greg will be leading a discussion on the top ten safety violations in Alaska during 2016.

In addition to the Petroleum Club’s soup of the day, you have two choices for an entrée.  Only the pork entrée will be served with two chef selected sides.  Cost (with meal): $20.00 if you RSVP, $25.00 without an RSVP, $10.00 for ASSE Student Members, Coffee only: $3.00.

Option 1:  Cuban Marinated Roast Pork with Mushroom & Onion Demi-Glaze

Option 2:  Chicken Caesar Salad

Please RSVP via email to Chapter Secretary, Nathan Zdunich at by the close of business on Thursday, February 15th.  Please include your menu choice.  If you have an allergy to an item in the above listed menu, please identify the allergy with your menu choice.  The PCA will strive to meet your dietary requirements.
